How often do we see media reports which say that trying something new enhances our enjoyment of life and benefits us in so many ways?
Croydon u3a members would certainly agree as we find that lifelong learning keeps us flexible in mind and body, sparks new interests, develops new skills and offers new social opportunities. There are no entry qualifications or upper or lower age limits for membership - all you need is to have a little spare time in your life.
If you visit our website, you can browse through the tempting array of different activities we offer. As well as a very wide range of Interest Groups, day outings and social gatherings, we also have short courses - which give members the opportunity to try something completely new.
All our activities take place in sociable and welcoming groups - and we are run and led by member volunteers, sharing our skills, enthusiasms and experience and learning from each other. There are plenty of opportunities to get to know new people and make new friends. Choose from more than 60 different activities – you will be spoilt for choice … maybe you will find something new that you would never have thought of trying …
We are sure that you will see much that interests you among the many activities we have on offer … From Walking to Talking, Spanish to Singing, Dance Exercise to Chair Yoga, Table Tennis to Science and Technology, History to Book groups – there’s something for everyone and one modest annual subscription gives you access to them all.
We are constantly adding to our menu of activities … our members are encouraged to come up with new ideas for groups and courses - for example we have recently started a Singalong group, a Ballroom Dancing group, a Guitar ‘improvers’ group, classes on Watercolour Painting, on Anglo-Saxon Literature and on the Celts, a Philosophy group and a very popular Transport Interest group.
It truly is a Wonderful Life with Croydon u3a - so, if you are up for a new challenge - watch out for our posts on Facebook Croydon u3a or visit our website at: www.croydonu3a.org.uk
